Horace VERNET (1789–1863) Caravan Drawn by a Horse, 1820–1825 Color drawing, signed at the bottom Dimensions: 21 x 36 cm (image area) The authenticity of this drawing has been confirmed by Mr. Pierre SANCHEZ, to whom we extend our thanks. He is the author of the catalog raisonné of Horace Vernet’s lithographs: “Pierre Sanchez, Horace Vernet: Draftsman and Lithographer, 1818–1838 - Catalog Raisonné" of his lithographic works, Dijon, 2016. He explains: “This well-executed drawing is indeed by Horace Vernet; the signature is consistent, and the style clearly attests to this. And this drawing, in my opinion, can be dated to the years 1820–1825,” in his letter addressed to the firm on July 15 of this year.
