Pierre Ambroise Richebourg (1810–1874), an optician and photographer, was trained and employed by Vincent Chevalier. Following Chevalier’s death in 1842, he took over the workshops at 69 Quai de l’Horloge, which later became 29 after a change in numbering. Having served as an apprentice, he was renowned as an excellent optician. He manufactured all kinds of equipment in his field, including photographic equipment. A student of Daguerre, who taught him the daguerreotype process, he was one of the first to present images straightened using a mirror. (…).
