H. 29.2 x W. 29.2 cm (view). Provenance Narychkin family. Constantin Korovine was a major Russian painter, close to Impressionism, active between Moscow and Paris. He was linked to important artistic circles and patrons, notably Savva Mamontov. This work was rediscovered in the Narychkin family collection during the preparation of this sale. Korovine moved in Russian aristocratic and cultural circles. Constantin Korovine designed theater and opera sets. In particular, he worked on Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.
