Gilt bronze clock Romantic period, mid-19th century decorated with a woman of quality with a dog, allegory of fidelity, seated on a rock. The enamelled dial movement is set in a rock, while the base is decorated in rocaille with symmetrical jagged flowers and rests on four feet, two of which are adorned with shells. Mahogany base and glass globe 39 x 28 x 9.5 cm Provenance : - Former Paris Private Collection of Victor Emile Gabriel CHEVALLIER (1889-1969) and his wife Marguerite Jeanne VEREL (1887-1962) - Mr. X's collection from 1969, then passed on through two estates to the current owner.
