First edition of this collection of 400 maxims, illustrated with an original color lithograph on the front cover by Nicolas de Staël. Edition of 210 copies, signed by Lecuire, this one Hors-Commerce enriched with a fine dedication from the author to André and Claude Bernheim, from 1971, and accompanied by a woodcut dedicated on the spine: Trois Maximes qui vont avec les jambes d'un bois d'essai de Nicolas de Staël, signed Pierre Lecuire, 1955.
