Suite of six mahogany chairs, openwork backs with central round decor on sword legs, tobacco leather upholstery. 19th century Stamped on four chairs by Jean-Joseph CHAPUIS (1765-1864) 88 x 47 x 44 cm Note: Jean-Joseph Chapuis was born in Brussels in 1765 and died there in 1864. He trained in Paris, where he obtained a master's degree, which enabled him to use a stamp. He set up his workshop in his native city around 1795 and kept it running until 1830, regularly applying his stamp once or several times to furniture he made.
