Seymchan pallasite meteorite.
Slice containing olivine crystals in a matrix of metal, iron and nickel, showing Widmanstätten structures.
Weight: 1400 g. Length : 370 mm. Width : 140 mm.
Place of discovery: Russia.
Comment: The Widmanstätten structures found in meteorites correspond to very slow cooling in space of the order of a few degrees per million years, allowing the metal to crystallize.
A very similar-shaped slice from the same block of pallasite is currently on display at the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
