TUKIKI MANU(O)MIE (1952-2017) - Lot 118
TUKIKI MANU(O)MIE (1952-2017) Galloping pig in green hardstone. Signed on the base 36x48 cm Tukiki's easily recognizable sculptures used the basic shapes of hands, claws and antlers as motifs, carving appendages into bird and animal heads that expressed his vision of the natural world as interconnected and interdependent. Tukiki's work can be found in many important museums and private collections across Canada, and he had a strong following in Germany, where he visited one of his solo exhibitions in 1988. Tukiki's parents, Davidee and Paunichea, and his brothers, Axangayu Shaa and Qavavau Manomie, are also artists. All lots are located at Château de Val Croissant, 2524 avenue de Saignon, Saignon (1 min from Apt).
