A work containing many interesting particulars on Europe, from the Baltic to the Mediterranean, principally on Scandinavia, Great Britain, France and Italy; on the Crusades, the Clergy, the Nobility, Feudalism, Legislation, the Administration, the States-General and the Provincials; with a list of the ancient Norman Knighthood and the Seneschals of the Province. Paris, Desenne et Dupuis, 1789, 2 volumes in-12 bound in full contemporary red morocco, ornate ribbed spine, double title-piece, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, interior roulette, gilt edges. A fine copy with a portrait of the author engraved by Benoist opposite the title. Provenance: Bibliothèque de Galard-Brassac Béarn (heraldic ex-libris). Complete with table and Apostille in fine, with lined leaves. Second edition published with corrections, the first being of 1766 when the author was only 19 years old.
