[Binding signed Lortic] Joseph L'HOPITAL and Auguste LEPERE. Normandy Fairs and Markets. Notes et Fantaisies. Life sketches drawn and engraved on copper and wood by Auguste Lepère. Paris, Société Normande du Livre, 1898, in-8 bound in full English green morocco, spine ribbed and decorated with gilt fleurons, boards richly framed with cold and gilt fillets and gilt fleurons, double fillet on the edges, gilt edges, morocco backstrip on the counterplates with gilt roulette, covers and spine preserved, in a protective half-maroquin folder with flaps. A very fine copy bound by Lortic, presented in a slipcase. Illustrated with 47 original etchings by Auguste Lepère based on his own sketches. There are numerous lively scenes in Le Neubourg, Port-en-Bessin, the Saint-Nicolas fair, the Cotentin region, etc. First edition limited to 140 copies, all numbered on Arches vellum (n°133).
