JAPAN, MEIJI period (1868 - 1912) Shelving unit with three doors and five shelves in wood carved with phoenixes in chrysanthemums and inlaid with mother-of-pearl and bone on a gold lacquer background representing birds in hibiscus and magnolia, quails in chrysanthemums and fish under wisteria. Standing on a base with four baluster feet. Dim. 177 x 106 x 37 cm Condition report : good general condition, small lacks and restorations to the inlays, small repaints, cracks, small chips notably to the base
