Volunteer officer's saber called "petit Montmorency", bronze guard decorated with an allegory of the Republic sitting on a gun and surrounded by a bundle of flags. Pommel with leonine head, filigree fusee, single-edged blade and upper throat bearing the inscription on one side "Vaincre ou Mourir Pour la Liberté" and decorated on the other side with an armed soldier. Blade length: 78 cm. Total length : 84 cm. Good condition and use. Revolutionary period.
