Victor DE GRAILLY (1804-1889) Animated landscape of a farm, a peasant's cut, cow and poultry Oil on canvas Signed lower right 48,3 x 65 cm (a hole of 0,5 x 1 cm in the sky in the upper right corner) Victor de Grailly, born on October 25, 1804 in Paris1 and died on September 4, 1887 in the 14th district of Paris2, was a French painter and illustrator. A student of the landscape painter Jean-Victor Bertin, he exhibited at the Salon from 1833. Some of his graphic works also illustrated editions, notably the Recherches historiques sur l'abbaye du Breuil-Benoit au diocèse d'Évreux by Jules Berger de Xivrey. A similar painting in its landscape sold at Bonham's Los Angeles USA, sale 18/11/2019, n°306.
