CHINA, MING Dynasty (1368 - 1644), Late 15th/early 16th century Barrel-shaped stool in porcelain stoneware enamelled in turquoise blue, violet, yellow and manganese called "fahua" with lotus flowers among foliage, two handles in the form of lions' heads, the lower part decorated with friezes of foaming waves, the upper part decorated with incised lotus flowers. The top with incised and enamelled decoration of five lotuses in their foliage on a manganese background. H. 38 cm Condition report : broken into several pieces and glued back together, chips, missing pieces and restorations to the lions' heads and to the nails, enamel jumps, small missing pieces
