Company Léopold Lambert - ca 1890 (attributed to) Head T.4.signed and numbered JUMEAU with its nail claw with red stamp. Closed mouth, beveled head, cookie hands; her clothes are original, including socks and shoes, the lace above her dress damaged by time. Height of the doll : 41 cm ; Total height : 51 cm The MELODIE: Several notes make this tune soft and pleasant for the rotation of the automaton: separate then synchronized hand movements; head swivels from left to right. The head straightens up to see itself in its mirror at the front and back, and raises its blush from its left hand to its face. The mechanism in good working order. Emile-Louis Jumeau took over the management in 1870 of the company from his father Pierre-François Jumeau, who died around 1895. We see automatons of the Lambert house around this date, corresponding to the merger of the Jumeau Company of Montreuil s/s Bois with the S.F.B.J. of Paris. Provenance : French Private Collection
